Active Super Property Receives WELL Health-Safety Rating

Sydney, 24 May 2022:

Active Super Property, with $800 million of direct assets, has received a WELL Health-Safety Rating for all eight properties within its portfolio in recognition of the quality of its building operations and management across key areas of cleaning, air and water quality, and stakeholder engagement.

The certification from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) reflects the high calibre of Active Super Property’s reopening plans in the wake of the pandemic.

“By receiving this quality assurance seal, Active Super Property’s management experience will instil confidence and resonate with existing tenants, visitors, contractors and leasing agents, and will likely generate further enquiries about our buildings,” said Scott Armstrong, Head of Active Super Property.

“Being recognised by the IWBI demonstrates how important it is to have a proven environmental record at a time when commercial tenants are looking to upgrade to quality, mid-tier sustainable buildings. Tenants are looking for premises that are not only energy efficient, but that are also safe, healthy and satisfy their own green requirements.”

The WELL Health-Safety Rating is a third-party rating, focusing on operational policies, maintenance protocols, effective communication and engagement, and emergency plans to address a post-COVID-19 environment.

"Active Super has long been a leader across Australia when it comes to environmental and social sustainability. It comes as no surprise to see the organisation prioritising the health, safety and well-being of their occupants by achieving the WELL Health-Safety Rating across all assets,” said Jack Noonan, Vice-President, Asia-Pacific, IWBI. “Active Super has shown leadership with a commitment to evidence-backed operational practices that can deliver strong health outcomes for anyone who enters their buildings," Mr Noonan said.

The WELL Health-Safety Rating further enhances Active Super ESG credentials and comes after the property portfolio recently secured a number 1 ranking in the NABERS Sustainable Portfolios Index 2022 with the best-performing shopping centre portfolio in NABERS’ Energy and Water categories.
